The Audit Bureau and Macau Society of Registered Auditors organized a seminar dedicated to internal auditing, which took place at Audit Commission, on 20th this month. In this first joint initiative between the two organizations, both speakers recognized the central importance of internal auditing for business management and for assurance of the auditing quality of the government audit.
Hong Kong Audit Commission’s auditors conducted in March 16 at the Commission of Audit of Macau a seminar on value for money audits on large constructions in Hong Kong and shared their experience with the audit staff of this Commission.
As member of China’s national delegation, led by the Deputy Auditor General, Dong Dasheng, Macau’s Commissioner of Audit Ho Veng On took part in the 12th General Assembly of Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), held in Jaipur, India, from February 27 to March 3. China National Audit Office (CNAO) is one of the core member-institutions of the organization and also one of the longest serving at its Governing Board.
Kou Chin Pang, Assistant Commissioner of Audit, lead a delegation to Nanjing Audit University. The Assistant Commissioner was warmly received by the rector of the University, (Mr) Wang Jiaxin, with whom reached the assurance that the University would continue supporting the Commission’s personnel training.
At the invitation of the Commissioner of Audit of Macau, Ho Veng On, the director of the Guangdong Audit Department, Lan Foan, visited last week the Commission of Audit (CA) where he met and shared experiences with incharges of the CA and explored with them arrangements for bilateral cooperation on personnel training.
The Commissioner of Audit Ho Veng On led a delegation for Beijing, on October 10, for a meeting with the Auditor General of China, Liu Jiayi, and witnessing the signing of the “Cooperation Agreement on Developing the Field Audit System (Macau edition)” between the Commission of Audit (CA) and the Information Technology Centre (ITC) of China National Audit Office (CNAO). CA expects the agreement would provide the basis for a more intense application of information and communication technologies on audit works, in order to further raise the quality and efficiency of the audit projects conducted by CA.
The Commission of Audit (CA) recently held a training event on performance audit. CA invited the deputy director of the Department of Non-Profit Government Agencies Audit of China National Audit Office (CNAO), Chang Li, and Yu Li, division head of the same department, to conduct a seminar, during which they, connecting theories to real cases, imparted and shared CNAO’s experiences in performance audit with auditors of CA.
The Macau Commission of Audit (CA) held a training course on “Auditing Public Works in China”. At the invitation of CA, the Director General of Fixed Assets Audit Department of China National Audit Office (CNAO), Xu Aisheng, and the division deputy director Yang Xianlong came to Macau for a presentation on the methodologies adopted for auditing large public works. The presentation has been organized for CA’s audit staff.
In order to keep up with the development of the audit activity of the Commission of Audit (CA), namely in the area of recurrent audit, the Assistant Commissioner Kou Chin Pang departed on 25 July, with a seven-member team, for an exchange visit to Shenzhen Audit Bureau, whom is entrusted with the duty of auditing the metro system of that city.
The Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions of the Association of Portuguese Speaking Countries (OISC/CPLP) held a seminar in the East Timor capital Díli to celebrate its 15th anniversary. Parliament Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister of East Timor took part in the seminar and presided over the celebrations which took place from 29 June to 1 July. To further strengthening the relationship with the supreme audit institutions (SAI) of the Portuguese speaking countries and regions, the Commissioner of Audit Ho Veng On attended the activities at the invitation of the organisation.
The seminar “Audit in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau”, organized by Guangdong Department of Audit, took place in the city of Dongguan, from 15 to 17 June. At invitation of the organizer, a delegation of the Commission of Audit (CA) headed by the Assistant Commissioner, Kou Chin Pang, participated in the seminar.
At the invitation of China Audit Society, the Audit Bureau of Macau sent a six-person delegation to participate in the seminar “Audit Theory and Practice on Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau 2011”, and presented four papers. The seminar was jointly organized by China Audit Society and Taiwan Chengchi University’s Department of Accounting, and took place in Taipei, from 30 March to 2 June.
