The Commission of Audit (CA) recently held a training event on performance audit. CA invited the deputy director of the Department of Non-Profit Government Agencies Audit of China National Audit Office (CNAO), Chang Li, and Yu Li, division head of the same department, to conduct a seminar, during which they, connecting theories to real cases, imparted and shared CNAO’s experiences in performance audit with auditors of CA.
The Macau Commission of Audit (CA) held a training course on “Auditing Public Works in China”. At the invitation of CA, the Director General of Fixed Assets Audit Department of China National Audit Office (CNAO), Xu Aisheng, and the division deputy director Yang Xianlong came to Macau for a presentation on the methodologies adopted for auditing large public works. The presentation has been organized for CA’s audit staff.
In order to keep up with the development of the audit activity of the Commission of Audit (CA), namely in the area of recurrent audit, the Assistant Commissioner Kou Chin Pang departed on 25 July, with a seven-member team, for an exchange visit to Shenzhen Audit Bureau, whom is entrusted with the duty of auditing the metro system of that city.
The Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions of the Association of Portuguese Speaking Countries (OISC/CPLP) held a seminar in the East Timor capital Díli to celebrate its 15th anniversary. Parliament Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister of East Timor took part in the seminar and presided over the celebrations which took place from 29 June to 1 July. To further strengthening the relationship with the supreme audit institutions (SAI) of the Portuguese speaking countries and regions, the Commissioner of Audit Ho Veng On attended the activities at the invitation of the organisation.
The seminar “Audit in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau”, organized by Guangdong Department of Audit, took place in the city of Dongguan, from 15 to 17 June. At invitation of the organizer, a delegation of the Commission of Audit (CA) headed by the Assistant Commissioner, Kou Chin Pang, participated in the seminar.
At the invitation of China Audit Society, the Audit Bureau of Macau sent a six-person delegation to participate in the seminar “Audit Theory and Practice on Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau 2011”, and presented four papers. The seminar was jointly organized by China Audit Society and Taiwan Chengchi University’s Department of Accounting, and took place in Taipei, from 30 March to 2 June.
Commissioner of Audit Ho Veng On participated, as observer, in the 8th Congress of the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI), held last week in Lisbon. This was the first time the Commission of Audit of Macau has been invited to take part in the congress.
In order to keep up with the intense workload of the Commission of Audit (CA), auditor Vong Sio Hong and senior officer Fong Kuok Io, on 25 February, shared with more than 50 colleagues what they have learned last year in the 29th course of “Computer assisted audit techniques - intermediate level”, in Beijing, organized by China National Audit Office (CNAO).
The Commissioner of Audit Ho Veng On, as member of the delegation of China headed by General Auditor Liu Jiayi, attended the XX Congress of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INCOSAI), launched on 22 November, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Commission of Audit (CA) carried out, on 8 November, a one-day course on the “China’s National Audit Standards”, in order to deepen the knowledge of the CA’s audit staff on the audit quality control and the audit activity in general on the mainland.
At the invitation of the Commissioner of Audit Ho Veng On, the Director of Audit of Hong Kong, Tang Kwok-bun, visited this Commission on November 3 and took part in a meeting with its staff. Mr. Tang also paid the Chief of Executive of Macau a courtesy visit.
The VI General Assembly of the Organization of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the Community of the Portuguese Speaking Countries (OISC/CPLP) took place this month in S.Tomé e Príncipe, where the Commissioner of Audit Ho Veng On delivered a presentation on the audit procedures adopted by the Commission of Audit of Macau.
