Audit Bureau took part in the seminar “Audit Theory and Practice on Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau 2011”

At the invitation of China Audit Society, the Audit Bureau of Macau sent a six-person delegation to participate in the seminar “Audit Theory and Practice on Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau 2011”, and presented four papers. The seminar was jointly organized by China Audit Society and Taiwan Chengchi University’s Department of Accounting, and took place in Taipei, from 30 March to 2 June.

The seminar’s agenda was made up of the following four general topics: “Infor¬mation Systems Audit — Cases”, “Raising the Capabilities of the Audit Institutions and Staff”, “Auditing Large Projects” and “Social Security Audit”. In view of this thematic framework, the delegation prepared and presented the following papers: “Reviewing the Implementation of Computer Assisted Auditing at the Commission of Audit of Macau”, “Personnel Development and the Growing Capability of the Commission of Audit of Macau”, “Auditing Macau's Large Mass Transit Project System” and “Brief Introduction to Audit Works in the Field of Macau’s Social Security System”. During the seminar, members of the delegation shared and discussed with their peers and scholars from Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, in order to deepen the knowledge on the theories and practices in those places regarding the four general topics.

Over fifty auditors and scholars from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau took part in the seminar. The Audit Bureau’s director, Neoh Hwai Beng, headed the delegation, in which also took part senior auditor Ms Tong Pek Cheng and other three auditors from the same bureau, and the assistant professor and course director of Macau University’s Business Administration Department, Mr Zhang Yang.
