At the invitation of the Commissioner of Audit of Macau, Ho Veng On, the director of the Guangdong Audit Department, Lan Foan, visited last week the Commission of Audit (CA) where he met and shared experiences with incharges of the CA and explored with them arrangements for bilateral cooperation on personnel training.

During the meeting, Ho Veng On underlined that as Guangdong and Macau are intensifying coope¬ration on various fields, the two audit institutions should also strengthen their cooperation, namely on auditing methods and techniques as well as on personnel training, through which auditors from both regions could deepen their mutual understanding and cooperation.

On his turn, Lan Foan referred that the growing and intense cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau will necessarily compel Guangdong and Macau’s auditors to work closer. And precisely within this context, Guangdong Audit Department will continue holding the three-side audit conference in which Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau would jointly conduct researches and share experiences on common fields. Lan Foan also referred that his department would welcome auditors from Macau taking part in its training courses, so that its experiences could be shared and contributing to a stable deve¬lopment of audit on both regions.

During the meeting, CA’s incharges briefed Lan Foan on the vision and on the powers and duties of CA, and also on the latest developments in its communication and information technologies assisted audit programme. Towards the end of the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the public accounting systems in the two regions, on the application of the software Field Audit System and on audit projects management.

For the visit to CA, Lan Foan was accompanied by his deputy Lu Rongchun, Li Weihong (deputy inspector), Lin Yang (head of Personnel Division), Yu Zhimin (head of Internal Audit Centre) and by the office director Wen Guoqiang. The delegation concluded its visit’s agenda and returned to Guangzhou on the next day.
