The Macau Commission of Audit (CA) held a training course on “Auditing Public Works in China”. At the invitation of CA, the Director General of Fixed Assets Audit Department of China National Audit Office (CNAO), Xu Aisheng, and the division deputy director Yang Xianlong came to Macau for a presentation on the methodologies adopted for auditing large public works. The presentation has been organized for CA’s audit staff.

The training course on “auditing public works in China”, held on August 22 and 23, has been made possible with the support of CNAO. Based on the results of the large continuous audits and on real cases, the trainers from CNAO looked into the contents, methodology, procedures and writing techniques of continuous audit reports as well as features and procedures of prices, quality and works management audit. Under the attentive coaching of Xu Aisheng and Yang Xianlong, and through discussions and ideas exchange, ca. 30 trainees gained a deeper knowledge on the various themes under study, which fulfilled the objective of the training course: consolidating CA’s audit staff skills in continuous audit; getting to know the innovative experience on mainland China; and encouraging CA’s staff to adopt more effective methods to do their audit works.

During their stay in Macau, Xu Aisheng and Yang Xianlong were received by the Commissioner of Audit Ho Veng On, during which both parts exchanged ideas on the developments in the field of continuous audit. In the same occasion, Ho Veng On expressed his sincere thanks to CNAO for its strong support toward the personnel training activities of CA, specially, by the way of continuously offering CA specifically oriented and practical training courses, which have been very effective in upgrading and refreshing the knowledge of CA’s staff, and also enlarging their horizons and enhancing their management competence. CA is committed to maintain close relationship with CNAO and will also keep on carrying out training activities that are beneficial to increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of CA’s audit works.
