The seminar “Audit in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau”, organized by Guangdong Department of Audit, took place in the city of Dongguan, from 15 to 17 June. At invitation of the organizer, a delegation of the Commission of Audit (CA) headed by the Assistant Commissioner, Kou Chin Pang, participated in the seminar.

The seminar is the result of a project initiated by Guangdong Department of Audit aiming at setting up a permanent platform whereby the audit institutions of the three regions could meet, debate issues and share experiences in audit on a yearly basis. The theme of this first meeting was on environmental audit.

CA’s delegation presented the following two papers: “Green works carried out by the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau — first environmental audit conducted by Macau Commission of Audit” and “Implementing and Developing Environmental Audit by Macau Commission of Audit”.

During the seminar, CA’s staff shared experience and exchanged views on environmental audit with its peers from Guangdong and Hong Kong, and visited a centre of quality control and a wastewater treatment plant in Dongguan.

Auditors Vong Sio Hong and Vong Mio Seong and two audit staff members accompanied the Assistant Commissioner to the seminar.
