Commission of Audit and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Audit Research Institute (Zhuhai) held online training course

In order to further improve the quality of audit work and the professional skills of auditors, innovate the concepts of auditing, promote the application of technology in auditing, develop and improve the capabilities of auditing that meet the requirement of comprehensive audit coverage, the Commission of Audit (CA) and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Audit Research Institute (Zhuhai) of Nanjing Audit University jointly organized an online training course for the first time on 11 and 12 of January, inviting the Associate Professor of the institute, Zhu Yi, to systematically introduce the basic principles of Python and its application in auditing to CA’s staff. The course had around 70 participants.

Currently, the development of big data in auditing is in a period of acceleration and transformation, and the integration of data into auditing is still at an initial stage. However, it is anticipated that the big data will be applied in auditing on a large scale. Therefore, CA is actively training CA’s staff in the knowledge of auditing and data application, in order to keep up with the development requirements and trends in audit work. This course started with an introduction of Python, and systematically presented the basic principles of Python and its application in auditing with simple theory and many examples, so CA’s staff could fully understand the characteristics and application of big data in auditing.

Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Audit Research Institute (Zhuhai) of Nanjing Audit University was jointly established in Zhuhai by Nanjing Audit University, the Audit Office of Guangdong Province and Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government. The signing and plaque unveiling ceremony was held in Zhuhai on 17 December 2020, and the Commissioner of Audit of Macao Special Administrative Region, Ho Veng On, participated in the ceremony and sent his congratulations via video. The establishment of this institute is an important step to promote the effective implementation of the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and to promote the scientific development of auditing in China. With the advantages of the location and policies, the exchange of audit work in the three regions will be strengthened through this institute, which will play a positive role in building the capabilities of audit team, innovating the audit theories and continuing the audit work.
