From 20 to 21 August, the “Cross-Straits, Hong Kong and Macao Audit Theories and Practices Conference 2018" was held by the China Audit Society in Ordos. More than 40 audit experts and representatives from Cross-Straits, Hong Kong and Macao participated in the conference. The conference covered two themes: “Study on the audit’s role in promoting sustainable development” and “Improvement in professional skills of auditor”. During the conference, 14 representatives delivered thematic speeches and six representatives made comments on the topics. The discussion in the conference was lively and achieved fruitful results.

The Director of Audit Bureau, Neoh Hwai Beng, led three CA staff to attend the conference, in which they presented two papers, namely “Study on the audit’s role in sustainable development: introduction to the audit work of Macao SAR in promoting sustainable development” and “Reflection on the improvement of professional skills of auditor”.

During the conference, CA representatives discussed the latest development of audit work with other audit counterparts and scholars, in order to achieve new theoretical and practical knowledge.

The exchange mechanism has been established since 2010, and Mainland China and Taiwan have already held eight sessions alternatively, aiming to play an active role in deepening the exchange between auditors, promoting the in-depth study on audit theories and strengthening the Cross-straits relations.
