2004/04/15

The Commission of Audit has completed the Performance Audit Report on the Study on Financial Assistance Granted by Public Departments to the Private Organizations and submitted it to the Chief Executive. The citizens may come to the Commission and ask for it or download the full text of the report at the website.

The audit aims at studying the mechanisms concerning public departments’ financial assistance to the private organizations, including whether the procedure from approval to supervision is sufficient and rigorous, or whether the financial resources can be made good use of.

According to the audit results, under the current mechanisms, the financial assistance often results in repetition, improper allocation or partiality due to the lack of clearly defined division of labor and coordination. The Commission of Audit finally recommends that fair, transparent and unified standards as well as strict supervisory system shall be set up according to the priorities established in policy objectives.
