The Auditor General of the China National Audit Office (CNAO) and the President of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), Liu Jiayi, inspected the Commission of Audit of Macao (CA) in the afternoon of 7 June. He met with the Commissioner of Audit of Macao, Ho Veng On, and encouraged CA staff to adhere to principles, carry out the audit in accordance with law and become selfless and brave.

Ho Veng On expressed gratitude for CNAO’s support over the years. Especially in the aspect of audit team building, audit informationization and international audit activities, therefore the audit work of Macao government moves toward a brand-new development phase. Moreover, he congratulated Liu Jiayi for being honored with the Grand Decoration of Honour in Gold with Sash for Services to the Republic of Austria on 25 May, and considered that the worldwide audit counterparts have already recognized the outstanding contribution of Liu Jiayi in his positions of the Auditor General of CNAO, the President of INTOSAI, the President and member of the United Nations Board of Auditors.

During his visit, Liu Jiayi particularly inspected the current application of “Auditor Office (Macau version)” developed by CA with the assistance of CNAO, and conducted a meeting with CA staff, who attended the training courses held by CNAO, or participated in the 2013 INTOSAI Congress in Beijing, to explore the development of audit institutions and personnel training. Liu Jiayi encouraged CA staff to pursue further studies, insist on principles and fully perform their duties. He also expressed that CNAO will continually support the development of CA in the fields of personnel training, audit informationization, etc.
