Audit Bureau took part in the “Seminar on Audit Theory and Practice on the Two Sides of the Straight and in Hong Kong and Macau — 2014”

In order to promote the academic exchange in the audit between Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, China Society of Audit organized the “Seminar on Audit Theory and Practice across the Straits and in Hong Kong and Macau — 2014”, which took place in the city of Taian in Shandong Province, from 12 to 16 May. Nearly 40 representatives participated in the seminar. The Director of the Audit Bureau, Neoh Hwai Beng, participated in the seminar and led a delegation which includes the personnel of Commission of Audit (CA), the assistant professor Zhang Xu of the University of Macau, the associate professor Peng Yanchong and the department head Lin Yingjie of the Macau Polytechnic Institute.

The seminar is held annually. The key theme of this fifth edition of the seminar was “Innovation of audit techniques and methodologies”. Delegates of the Commission of Audit presented communications on the key theme, and took part in the exchange of relevant issues with seminar participants through discussions and experience sharing.

The seminar has been and important platform for promoting professional exchange on auditing techniques and practices among the four regions. The participants of each region could present and explain their relevant experiences on the issues, in addition and the most important aspect was that, they were able to exchange ideas and share experiences openly about the difficulties and challenges in relation to transposition of audit theories to actual practices through this occasion. Thus the seminar provided a great stimulus for all participants in order to improve enforcement and to promote innovation methodologies and audit techniques.
