China National Audit Office experts visit Macau to deliver further training on the functions of the On-site Audit System

In order to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the financial audit works, the Commission of Audit (CA) of Macau SAR and the Center for Information Technology (CIT) of China National Audit Office (CNAO) signed a cooperation agreement in 2011, to jointly develop the audit software “On-site Audit System (Macau edition)”. After two successive phases of tests and adjustments, CA accepted the delivery of the system last year and applied it extensively in auditing the government accounts. In order to allow the auditors to further understand the functions and operations of the system, Yang Yunyi, the chief of CIT, the division head Sun Zhonghe and Wang Shuai, the engineer who participated throughout the development, were invited to Macau to deliver a training course on the functions of the system, with a focus on practical operating and maintenance techniques.

Yang Yunyi briefed on the concepts guiding the continuing development of CNAO’s audit information system and the experience acquired during the process, Sun Zhonghe shared information on the latest trends of computer aided audit from a technological development and practical application perspective, while Wang Shuai conducted intensive sessions of operational training to auditors and system administrators on both the main and supporting programmes of system.

During their stay in Macau, the Commissioner of Audit, Ho Veng On, met with the chief of CIT, Yang Yunyi, to exchange ideas on computer aided audit and its results. Ho Veng On also took the opportunity to thank CNAO for the strong support provided to CA on the system development and on personnel training; he also reaffirmed CA’s wish to keep close relationship with CNAO to further intensify communication and cooperation on audit information system.
