Commission of Audit meets with the Organization of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries

In order to strengthen the exchange of audit techniques and experiences between Macau and the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), the Commission of Audit (CA) held a meeting today with the delegations of the supreme audit institutions (SAI) of the Portuguese speaking countries, which participated in the XXI Congress of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), in Beijing, last week.

The presidents of the SAIs of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome e Principe and East-Timor, as well as their delegations took part in the meeting. ATRICON (Association of Members of Courts of Accounts of Brazil), an observer in the Organization of the Supreme Audit Institutions of CPLP (OISC/CPLP), and the director of General Office of China National Audit Office (CNAO), Chen Chenzhao, as representative of the Auditor General, also attended the meeting. During the meeting, the Commissioner, Ho Veng On, presented the latest developments in public auditing in Macau and discussed with the participants about the management and development of the public audit institutions. Before the event, OISC/CPLP’s Executive Council held a meeting in CA.

At the same day, the Chief Executive of Macau successively received the representative of CNAO and the delegations of OISC/CPLP.

Apart from the meeting with CA, the delegations also visited the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and CPLP and enjoyed a city tour organized by Macau Government Tourist Office.
