Guangdong’s Discipline Commission met with Commissioner of Audit Ho Veng On

Huang Xianyao, member of the Standing Committee and secretary of the Discipline Commission of the Communist Party of China in Guangdong province, lead a 21-member delegation on a courtesy visit to the Commission of Audit on last Friday (12 October) and was met by the Commissioner of Audit Ho Veng On. During the meeting, both exchanged views on a series of subjects in the field of government audit.

Mr Ho appreciated the visit and briefed the delegation on the duties, organization and mission of Macau’s Commission of Audit as well as its main activities, namely in regard of the financial audits, special audits and performance audits and the social benefits they have produced. Mr Ho also made a presentation on future developments and challenges faced by the Commission of Audit.

Huang Xianyao said the visit aimed at knowing the Macau’s experience in developing legislation and other arrangements necessary for the affirmation of government audit. He explained that audit on Mainland China has a closed relationship with the Discipline Commission’s functions so he hoped that the visit would provided the leaders of the Commission, as well as the leaders from the Supervisory Department, Anti-Corruption Department and other similar departments of Guangdong participating in the delegation, with new references and experiences from Macau.

Besides Huang Xianyao, the delegation also comprised the director of the provincial departments of Supervisory and of Anti-Corruption, Lin Haokun, and the director of the provincial Office of Hong Kong and Macau Affairs and Guangdong’s provincial Organization Department of the Communist Party of China, Liao Jingshan. From the side of Macau’s Commission of Audit, the director of the Audit Bureau, Mr Neoh Hwai Beng, and advisers to the Commissioner of Audit were also present.
